ABC late-night host Jimmy Kimmel has saluted local newscasters with interesting names, and Central Florida placed three representatives.
A montage on Kimmel's show featured WFTV-Channel 9 anchor Martie Salt. She is featured on the ABC affiliate's 11 p.m. news, and Kimmel's show follows her at 11:35 p.m.
The Kimmel segment also drew on News 13 footage of that channel's political analysts Lou Frey and Dick Batchelor.
Kimmel described them and others in the segment as "oddly monickered individuals" and said his staff had been keeping tabs looking for them.
Of course, to many people in Central Florida, those three are TV institutions. Congrats, I think, on the national recognition.
