Law Week Luncheon with Dick Batchelor
Please join us as we acknowledge the work of outstanding students, teachers and volunteers at our very special April luncheon. Law Week's theme is "Realizing the Dream: Equality for All," based on the inspiring work of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Students from across the county have participated in mock trials, job shadowing, and a poster and essay contest, and law students attended a panel discussion on ethics and professionalism at FAMU College of Law.
We will also recognize the OCBA's 2013 Liberty Bell Award recipient, Mr. Dick Batchelor. Mr. Batchelor has spent over 30 years as a champion for children, the disabled and the environment. He has frequently collaborated with the Legal Aid Society of the OCBA to enhance the legal protections for those who could not protect themselves and, as a state legislator, was successful in passing legislation to protect victims of drunk driving, help families via uniform child support, and protect abused and neglected children. Since 1981, he has served as honorary chairman of the "Dick Batchelor Run for the Children," which to date has raised more than $1,000,000 for programs to assist abused children.
RSVP by Friday, April 19 to [email protected].
If you have RSVP'd but find you cannot attend, PLEASE CONTACT US BY THE 19th. No-shows incur additional charges for the bar.
